Cyphon Empowers Islander Flooring with Custom Shopify Development and Advanced Ecommerce Features

Challenges / Objectives
Islander Flooring faced several challenges in making customers comfortable ordering floors on a website.
One of the main challenges was enabling customers to order free samples while charging for shipping when it exceeded a total number of them. Another challenge was providing customers with an easy way to determine the amount of flooring they need based on the size of the rooms they needed flooring for. Lastly, customers wanted to see different flooring options side by side to compare.
Each of these challenges require advanced development work as none of the standard Shopify themes could solve them.
Solutions
We helped develop a complex logic to control the sample calculations in the backend so it became a natural part of the product ordering process. This allowed customers to easily get free samples before making a big purchase decision.
To solve the challenge of determining the amount of flooring needed, we added a calculator option on the product page that allows customers to calculate the required amount based on square footage or width and length measurements. This was also part of the purchase flow, so no additional step or app was needed.
Additionally, we developed a comparison feature to help customers compare multiple flooring options side by side easily.
Making the process of ordering flooring online as easy and streamlined as possible was crucial to the success of Islander Flooring. By developing innovative solutions to the challenges faced, we were able to create a website that not only met customer expectations but exceeded them.
